Exciting Discoveries in Art History - Zoom
Thursday, February 227:00—8:00 PMZoom
Who doesn't love learning about a priceless painting found in an attic? Or a sculpture sitting for decades in a public garden, only to be found out as an Italian treasure?
After finding herself in the middle of her own art history discover, Mallory Mortillaro uncovered the provenance of a Rodin sculpture sitting in a New Jersey town hall and became intrigued with how often this occurs. "Exciting Discoveries in Art History" explores the stories of several different rediscoveries of important and invaluable works of art found in unexpected places, the background of the piece and its artist, and how they got lost in the first place.
